What do I want?

What do I want? What do I want to do? Where do I want to be? Where do I see myself in five years time? What dreams do I have? What fears do I have? What's in it for me? What makes me happy? What makes me sad?

Sometimes we have so many questions for ourselves. The why's, the what's, the why comes, the what if's, the what's make up a lot of my vocabulary. Through all these questions, I realised that I haven't checked in with myself for quite some time. Just to get in touch with where you're headed, what you want, want a person still wants to achieve, what's on my dream list, the connectiveness between my family and friends. Who do I need to touch base with.

What I realised is through this process of checking in with myself ........

Life is short. When I started looking at the figures I realised that in 5 years time I'm going to be 50. That's the big 50. That's quite an achievement. I made the decision I'm not going to worry about the small stuff. Not important. As long as I have clean underwear I'll be fine.

Life is simple, it's not as complicated as we think it is. I have the tendency to want to overcomplicate everything, it's not, it's as clear cut as do I want jam on my bread or not. We go to sleep, wake up in the morning and then we have everything in between. The constant what we do have is time, therefor life is simple.

This is your Life, do what you love and do it so often. - I've started to implement this is my life, every day I do something I really like and really enjoy. I love taking photographs, not a day goes by that I don't take a few pictures, go for a walk and do something.

If you don't like something, change it. I mean it, if you don't like something, don't do it. Don't do something because you feel compelled to do it either. I don't like watching rugby, I get hubby to watch with the kids and now and again I'll check in to see the score and say hello, other than that, me and rugby ain't no best friends.

If you don't like your job, quit. I'm not saying quit before you have another job, just assess where you're at and if your job makes you happy. I'm very fortunate that I love what I do. What I have seen is others staying in their jobs and not loving what they do. Most of your day is spent at work, it would then be nice to do something that you love passionately. Live your dream and wear your passion.

If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV. I've done this totally, it's amazing to see how much time you really have. I'm in the process of enjoying every moment of this "spare" "free" time.

If you are looking for the love of your life, stop. They will be waiting for you when you start doing the things you love. This is the advice I gave to our teenagers.

Stop over analysing, all emotions are beautiful. Enough said.

When you eat, appreciate every last bite. This is for me.

Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences.Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating.

Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. I've got the T-shirt on this one. There is so many things a person can do. We always tend to think we have to stay put as we think of the money thing. Sometimes going to a park in another suburb is great fun, cheap and cheerful. There's nothing like a picnic basket with all homemade stuffies in it. See - we even get to travel.

Some opportunities only come once, seize them.

I found these quotes about dreams...... I couldn't find who said them, yet I found them inspiring.
If you want something you've never had, then you're got to do something you've never done.

You can do anything you want to. Follow your dreams because if you say you can't do it, you'll spend the rest of your life proving it.

Decide what you want and do the work to get it every day.

The difference between who you are and what you want to be is ... what you do.

Whatever you want to do, do it, there is only so many tomorrows.

What I want you to do is when you're feeling all bluesy, on the where am I front, what do I want, and where do I want to go to. Just check in with yourself and ask yourself a few questions. It's amazing to see what answers you come up for yourself.

I'm working on a short little e-course of all the questions I've been asking myself. I'll be sharing this shortly and this for free.
