Dassiesfontein

Today I'm going to share a secret about a small little side trip we took. You see things happen when you have one of your bestest friends with you while driving. Things like chatting so much you miss a turn-off. You know those times when the mouth did the walking and when you realise you're having a little adventure in the middle of an adventure you're in an entire different universe. In this little side excursion of ours we found a nice little place called Dassiesfontein. There is just so much to see and to experience in this shop. They have all things antique, old, vintage, warm, fuzzy, clothing, shoes, handbags, food, drinks, food under one roof. Literally selling anything and everything, from a tablespoon to a needle. Dassiesfontein have their own fully licensed restaurant, bakery, deli, they even bake their own bread. Divine. This made being lost worth-while. Not that being lost is fun and having to drive for "hours" and "hours" to get to our final destination fun, I have to say looking back Dassiesfontein made up for it. So for those who ever are lost on the N2 between Botrivier and Caledon just look for the thatched roof painted with Dassiesfontein and you've reached your destination. PS : We were actually on our way to Worcester - so there you go - that's definitely worth some funny bones working face wise.
