My Feet on Vacation

I've had such a wonderful holiday and came back refreshed - when looking through my album I noticed that my feet did quite some walking, enjoyed a bit of fun and actually had a great time.

This made me think of this quote - The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again, after you fall - Vince Lombardi

My feet went to Milnerton Beach

Took a turn at Yzerfontein

 Had a blast in Melkbosstrand

Enjoyed the sand in Eden on the Bay

Took a walk in Kreeftebaai

Had coffee in the V&A

Walked up a hill in Montagu

All in all a great inspiration to keep on going this year - we never know what might be ahead - a year choc filled with possibilities.

This brings me to this quote -

If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.

Lagoon Beach Milnerton

One of the nicest places we went to this summer is none other than Lagoon Beach in Milnerton. We all went for a walk on the beach, the small little promenade, sat down at one of the restaurants with a view of the beach and just put on our sign that said chilled. And nothing says chilled like a sundowner and watching the world float you by. If ever in need of and in search of destress mode, take yourself off to Lagoon Beach for that little bit of a holiday feeling. It does wonders I promise.

This is me having some fun in the sun - nice little summer vibe.

Just sitting back and watching the world float by.

Taking me and my camera for a walk. There is sometimes such nice photo opportunities and having a turned over hull makes the possibilities endless.

So for this weekend a bit of a challenge - before doing the same old same old - do some local travelling - it's not far, close and the views are incredible. Most of all have fun.

Clay Cafe Hout Bay

Clay Cafe in Hout Bay is one of those gems you find in your search of creative things to try. It's for "us" people who never would have had any opportunity to make or paint things on clay and to finish it off with that all important glaze. It's an amazing open space where you can sit down, go forth and just do your thing. There is a small little cafe and the nibbles do help with the creative process.

You start the process with choosing your items, your paints and all those little extras you "think" you want to incorporate into your pieces. During the process you chat with your friends, give each other tips, laugh at the "mistakes" you think you make. It's just so much fun, it's something you just have to do. Great Stress Reliever.

The story of my two mugs - the joy of looking through all the colors and choosing the three I really love.

Starting the painting process and making sure that I even out all those little bubbles.

My finished little two mugs all ready for the firing oven.

After waiting patiently for 10 days - the all important call came to fetch me - and here's my little mugs all glossy and clean ready for it's first use as a coffee cup.

My recommendation is to venture forth - get creative - it's loads of fun.

What to look forward to in 2014

There is just so much happening for me this year in 2014. I took a long well earned break. Getting myself back on track. A full month of travelling, doing things that inspire me, finding my muse, my inner calmness, that go to space to get me and things moving for this coming year.

I've got a couple of things lined up for this coming month, a few travelling places that is just a must see, a few creative things I've been up to. Just some fun stuff to share.

I hereby wish you all a very wonderful 2014 and that all your dreams and goals be fulfilled and blessings surround you.

Creative Break

We took a bit of a break, and I'm calling it my creative break. We went in search of a bit quiet, relaxing, chill time. That place where you can just sit and relax, de-stress and let your worries be put on the back burner for a moment or two. This has done me the world of good. To take a moment, just to breathe, be aware what's in and around one self and make the little moments count.

During this little "our" time I took out my camera and went exploring, to look at different angles, patterns, signs, colors, designs and everything that just worked the right hand side of my brain for a bit. Give the left hand side a bit of a break - you know the controlling one.

Out of my excursions these are the bits and pieces that inspired me in the moment. Taking out my camera and just go exploring, I had to remember to take a moment to take of the shoes, smell, touch, hear, see and taste everything around me.

I luved this picture of the kids playing - those carefree moments.

What's more beautiful than a home-grown original protea

The sun breaking through late morning - the best

Wood, wood and more wood - welcomes summer

This made me think of my grandma's stove - us grandkids sitting next to one of these in winter.

Kids playing - a total summer moment

The kids brought us these little flowers

Tracks going somewhere - take me with ...............

Just had to get in touch with nature....... - my feel / touch moment

Patterns, patterns pattersn - they call to me

This little sandstone home - days gone by

There is nothing better than water, water and water, to put your toes in water, watch water, feel water, taste water, water is just one of those cleansing things - a bath, sea, dam, swimming pool anything to do with water is just that - relaxing
